Building the St Ayles Skiff

This 4 month class teaches basic wood working, boat design and construction techniques, oar making, river ecology, and forest stewardship. You will learn about wood species, tool care, shop safety, and a host of boatbuilders' tricks not used in any other woodworking.

You will benefit from the collaborative atmosphere, appreciate friends in a new light, and become a team. Critical thinking skills will be enhanced and you will exercise some math skills, maybe long unused.

Upon completion of the building process, your team will embark on the river to race other skiffs and enjoy the river from a whole new perspective.

Individual cost depends on group size and boat ownership.
